Basketball City (at Pier 36) is a 70,000 sq. ft. “state-of-the-art” Sports & Entertainment facility, which contains seven air-conditioned basketball courts with glass backboards, electronic scoreboards, automated video system and first-class locker rooms. Basketball City runs adult corporate leagues, youth leagues, youth clinics and summer camps.
In addition, the facility hosts numerous special events (art & fashion shows, expos, nonprofit fundraisers, tech conferences, product launches, etc.)
The venue also includes a VIP Mezzanine, a 55,000+ sq. ft. parking lot, and a 15,000 sq. ft. deck on the East River overlooking the Manhattan and Brooklyn Bridges and the Statue of Liberty.
Since its inception, Basketball City has been proud to serve the community and provide opportunities and experiences for thousands of kids. As Basketball City celebrated its 20th anniversary this September, its contributions to the community exceeded $700,000 in 2016 and over $2 million for the past 3 years.
Over the past 3 years, Basketball City has:
donated an average of 450 court hours (annually) to local schools and youth organizations for practices, games, tournaments and physical education classes
contributed an average of 364 scholarships (annually) to local residents for our summer camps and youth programs
made donations to NYPD Night Out Against Crime, NYPD Annual Toy Drive, Henry Street Settlement, 9/11 Day of Service, Positive Coaching Alliance, and others
replaced five (5) backboards and baskets for Shuang Wen School (PS 184) located across the street from Basketball City
Provided reduced fees and discounts to a variety of non-profit organizations to host events, helping to raise millions of dollars for numerous worthy causes (over $30 million since inception)
